New outdoor lights from the German manufacturer IP44.de

Even those who, like us, have been working with outdoor lights for many years, are constantly discovering new ideas on how to make their time outside even more enjoyable. Most of the concepts are developed in a now well-established collaboration between external designers and the IP44.de team. Together we sift through new design approaches, check them for their merits and technical possibilities, and optimize them so that the end result is a technically and aesthetically perfect outdoor lights.

One of our latest innovations is called qu and is the contemporary translation of a classic lantern. For fil, on the other hand, we have refined the outdoor lampshade with fabric and in this way given its light literally fabric qualities. Both belong to our young collection of portable outdoor lamps, whose enormous success surprised us at first. On the other hand, it is true that outdoors we enjoy a vastness and a freedom that we simply do not know indoors. Outdoor lamps from IP44.de have the task of accompanying us during these starry hours.

We owe our name to a common industry standard. “IP44” essentially means that a lamp is robust and suitable for outdoor use. And that’s what our lamps are, without a doubt. However, from the very beginning, we have gone far beyond all standards. With surfaces that are as aesthetic as they are durable. With everlasting materials such as glass, stainless steel or cast aluminum. With high-quality electronic components such as our in-house innovation IvyLight, an exceptionally efficient and durable LED technology. With manufacturing partners who put it all together for us to the highest quality standards. And because our origin says something about our typically German quality standards, one day we also added the identifier “de” to our name. Since then we are called IP44.de.

Outdoor Lights from Germany

While we still created the first designs with on-board resources, we soon opened up for collaboration with experienced luminaire designers and their very own ideas and concepts. This soon resulted in our first design award, and many more followed. Because our outdoor lamps are as aesthetically perfect as the most awarded interior lamps.

At the same time, we have found our place in the architectural world and, in close cooperation with planners and architects, have realized numerous commercial, public and private projects all over the world. Today, our lamps can be seen not only all over Europe, but also in the USA and Asia in many exceptionally beautiful places. And that is actually the greatest compliment you can pay us.

Today, when people ask what distinguishes IP44.de from other quite respectable outdoor lighting collections, the answer is usually: it is the combination of exceptionally aesthetic appearance with perfect function.

The Clock by Wever & Ducre puts ceiling surfaces in the limelight

The Clock lamp by Wever & Ducre takes time to be admired. Sometimes it is reminiscent of a sundial and sometimes of a slowly opening flower. An effect that sets off larger wall or ceiling surfaces particularly beautifully. But it is not only the shape that distinguishes the Clock by Wever & Ducre, but also its particularly soft light. This makes it easy to forget the time for a moment. The ingenious thing about it: each shade has a different angle. So Clock sometimes looks like a sundial and sometimes like a slowly opening flower. An effect that sets off larger wall surfaces particularly beautifully. And makes Clock a true master of illusion. Well, are you curious? Then you should take a look at the magical lamp live right now. Its particularly soft and even light is guaranteed to enchant you.
Every story needs a beginning. Ours begins in the early eighties, when a handful of young Belgians decide to found a lighting company. So far so good. But what name should the company have? Since several official languages are spoken in Belgium – Flemish and French, among others – and the company founders did not want to decide for either one or the other, only one option remained: the name should be phonetically at home in both worlds. During the lively discussion, the young entrepreneurs happened to come across a document that was to play a decisive role in the company’s history: a guideline that explains in five points how to be successful in life – through hard work (WErklust), trust (VERtrouwen), enthusiasm (DUrf), paired with courage and a good portion of creativity (CREativiteit). That is our basis and our company philosophy.
Today, we stand for trendy lamps that not only look great, but also score with inner values. LEDs of the latest generation that feel just as comfortable in a small attic flat as in the hippest club in town. Because they save space, conserve resources and thus quite simply ensure a better quality of life. And that is exactly what we at Wever & Ducré want. From whom do we draw our inspiration? From people like you who share our enthusiasm for beautiful things and place just as much value on noble design as on high-quality workmanship. And to ensure that the cool, high-quality lamps reach our customers as quickly as possible, we deliver promptly and directly from stock – From Belgium with Love!

German Design Lamps by Lichtlauf

Lichtlauf has its own collection of lamps. Our passion for unconventional materials, colours and methods is reflected in the individual objects. The lamps by Lichtlauf can be bought in specialist shops. It all began in an underground car park. That was the workshop of the designer Günter Rochelt. It was here that I learned to leave out everything heavy and superfluous while building muscle-powered aeroplanes. This has remained my theme to this day. I was lucky enough to learn from many good people and that’s how I ended up with Ingo Maurer. Before that, I had worked as a designer in three dimensions. Now I discovered: one turns on the light and everything gets a fourth dimension. Once you realise that, you can’t get away from it. I look at every room with light eyes.

Our special lamps illuminate a wide variety of areas both indoors and in the garden and landscape. In this way, individual lighting wishes can be fulfilled in and around the building.

The Lichtlauf MunichReeds lamp fulfils the desire for atmospheric reference points in the room at night. Hardly visible during the day, the lamp creates a new perception of space in the dark. The stalks are flexible and stable, move in the wind and thus integrate very well into the surrounding vegetation. Suitable for flowerbeds, gravel areas or shallow water zones in semi-public and private areas. Enjoy the Lamps of the German Design Team Lichtlauf.

Tips to illuminate the office with elegance and functionality

If you like to illuminate the office, it is immediate to think about how to set up a work that focuses mainly on the aspect of functionality, and therefore to offer the correct light to the individual workstations of the desks and to all work areas, in order to also ensure the right rest for the users’ sight. Similarly, however, in the reality of modern offices that are increasingly a reflection of the corporate image, the project can (and must) also contribute to creating an elegant and satisfying aesthetic, and below we will see how.
The position of the light sources obviously has an essential weight in the study of office lighting as well as in any environment, as it is a factor that greatly affects the overall performance. The first fundamental rule is to not position any light source perpendicular to the operating area; sometimes, however, the architectural and plant characteristics of the environment do not allow to do otherwise; in this case it is therefore necessary to choose systems with controlled emissions, which do not offer a diffuse projection. An ideal solution is to insert light sources for general light on the sides of the space, and then integrate with table lamps to be inserted on the desk. The best light color that you can choose for an office is neutral, i.e. between 3000K and 4000K: this is the most natural and restful light color that exists, and is useful for not straining the eyes and helping concentration and therefore productivity. To create harmonious and pleasantly usable spaces, it is important to create indirect lighting that makes the space bright throughout the room and not just on the worktop, so as to improve visual comfort by enlarging the space and making it wider and more comfortable for people. The indirect and general light must then be accompanied by the direct light of the individual workstations: those who work at the desk in fact need a homogeneous and diffused light, and not too aggressive.

A timeless and revolutionary building created with Kreon Lighing

“I wanted to create a jaw-dropping reaction when people walk through the door.” Ronny Schoeffaerts knew exactly what he wanted from the start of the newbuild for his company a few years ago. Schoeffaerts in Diepenbeek is a Finishing and Interior specialist and is known for its high-level finish which they guarantee during their realisations. The company has recently moved to an impressive newbuild on the Verbindingslaan in Diepenbeek. “We wanted to create a wow effect on the inside and outside. This is what we represent”, explains Ronny Schoeffaerts.
From renovation to a newbuild

“Our previous location is only 500 meters away from here”, tells Ronny Schoeffaerts. “We renovated and built extensions twice already because we needed more space. First, because we became distributor for Brems interior doors and later on we needed more space for the Anyway doors. The range kept expanding as we added Adooré interior doors. In addition, we started to focus on total finishing and interior with plasterboard, painting and plasterwork. Originally I made plans to renovate a third time until this plot crossed our path. I told myself this would be the last time I would build in my life. Therefore I didn’t spare any expense.”
Pioneering and timeless

“The design of the building took some doing. I’m not the most easy-going person when it comes to these things, I know that. Quite a few designs passed through. Every time I thought they didn’t take the design far enough, it wasn’t innovative enough and it was too familiar. For me, the challenge was to build a timeless building. A building that would be pioneering even in 20 years. The wow effect on the inside and outside. The starting point? When people walk through the doors I want their jaw to drop. This is what we represent.”

“In addition, I wanted to keep our employees in mind. I always try to empathize and put myself in their shoes. To shape our reception area, I imagined myself sitting there, what would I expect of this workplace? I did the same thing for every area. In this way we try to create an optimal work environment for every employee.”
Love for the product

“I knew kreon for quite some time. We have collaborated in the past during quite a few projects in private residents. A showroom is somewhat different in comparison to a house. Our products need to be put in the spotlight and shown to their full potential. That’s why I find the consulting expertise of kreon so important. They looked at the interior design plans and used their knowledge and experience to achieve the best possible result. I genuinely appreciate their products. The sophistication and details of their fixtures are outstanding.”

The lighting manufacturer Kundalini KDLN now produces sustainably

“KDLN will contribute to the global goal of planting more than 30 million trees to achieve an optimal 10% of forests, regenerating natural habitats and biodiversity over time, and guaranteeing the rights of local workers,” says Stefano Bordone, president of the company.

Every action we take has an impact on the environment and the planet we live on. That’s why at KDLN we decided to join the reforestation effort by partnering with Eden Reforestation Projects, an American non-profit organization that has been working for years to combat the effects of climate change.

Those who choose our products are active participants in the project. For each product sold, we will donate a percentage of our proceeds to the Eden Reforestation Project, specifically to support Kenya, with the goal of working together to spread awareness of a sustainable development model.

Together, we will support the positive circular effect that will allow ecosystems to flourish again by reducing CO2 emissions in favor of oxygen in the air.
Together, we will involve local communities in the restoration of deforested areas, helping them to create new employment opportunities and improve their.
Improve living conditions and prospects. Together, we will participate in an environmental and social sustainability project. Our partnership with the Eden Reforestation Project is another step towards an increasingly sustainable business model, which we have been working on for years to reduce our impact on the environment. We have banned single-use plastic from our storefronts, are gradually replacing new plastic bags with recycled material, and are eliminating polystyrene from our packaging. We joined the Trentino Tree Agreement project as “forest guardians” to breathe new life into the violin forest, and in 2019 we used reclaimed wood to make the stick for the iconic Kushi lamp.

Together, we can make a difference for the home by all of us living!

Brokisglass is a new Dimension in glass

Brokisglass is a product of the ecological manufacturing practices of Janštejn Glassworks and Brokis, whose close collaboration has given rise to a unique new material made of glass shards. BROKISGLASS adds an exciting new dimension and aesthetic to glass. In the manufacture of lighting glass, which Janštejn Glassworks specializes in, 30% of each handblown piece is discarded. This valuable material resource is typically seen as waste. The development of BROKISGLASS was driven by a need to change the perception of these glass shards as waste, which previously was hauled to a landfill and thus burdened the planet and had a negative impact on the environmental landscape. Made from shards of glass discarded during the manufacture of BROKIS handblown glass lighting collections, BROKISGLASS has brought about a significant reduction in waste material. The transformation of these shards into a new decorative product represents an environmentally friendly and efficient upcycling of material, thanks to which the Janštejn Glassworks is able to employ a strategic circular economy and thus contribute to the creation of a healthy relationship between nature and humans.

We’ve also got a new video for you, where you’ll find the complete story of BROKISGLASS. Be sure to check it out.

“BROKISGLASS is a very progressive material, and I firmly believe it’s going to be highly successful. I see it as an excellent alternative to other materials, and the range of possible applications is very wide. It all comes down to the creativity of the architect or the designer. It can be used as a diffusor, tabletop, decoration, wall object, emblem, or even a coat of arms.”

The Luceplan Doi has been created as a suspension lamp system. The typology calls for one or more parts to be suspended from the ceiling by means of a cable, free to move and float in space, until their weight achieves stability to determine their position. The lamp appears to be stable, but is always in a state of tension.

Elegance and purity of style characterise this set of suspension lamps named Luceplan Koinè – both in reference to the Mandalaki design studio (Greek word meaning “clothespin”) and for its meaning of “shared language”, referring to its shape which offers such extreme versatility.

Luceplan Levante a chandelier of great emotional impact, based on the creative intuition of the designer, together with the research on materials, technology and design conducted by di Luceplan. A new protagonist for living areas in the home, but also for contract applications.
