The Brokis Elo, an innovative new suspension light

ELO, an innovative new suspension light combining the distinctive textures of BROKISGLASS with elegant aluminium framing, comprises three articulated arches, the outer two of which can be locked in different attitudes. The unique solution offers a variety of striking scenographic compositions that can shape the interior and lend it a dominant design element. The name ELO means ‘ring’ or ‘bond’, words that adeptly express the grand decorative potential and remarkable variability of the concept, a sculpturesque entity that can be modified and customized as the demands of the setting evolve.

ELO is a unique BROKIS collection that uses the glassmaking technique known as fusing, which gives rise to the graceful curves of the arches. The primary material, BROKISGLASS, has been developed on the principles of upcycling, sustainability, and ecological manufacturing. The glass is set in elegant metal frames crafted from aluminium, which ensures outstanding structural integrity while reducing the overall weight of the light. Illumination is provided by flexible LEDs that follow the curvature of the arches, underscoring the intrinsic aesthetic beauty of the BROKISGLASS and effecting a charming diffusion of light no matter what configuration the piece is installed in.

ELO can be deployed in various applications, either as a single linear light or, thanks to its versatility and compositional dynamism, as a multifaceted lighting object. The Brokis ELO is ideally suited to interiors of large private homes and commercial spaces such as hotels, restaurants, and offices.

A lamp with Handblown Glass the Brokis Trottola

The Brokis Trottola is a new collection of suspension and table lights whose shape elicits memories of a popular childhood toy – the spinning top. The aesthetics of the design are carried on an enchanting luminance that passes through an opal diffusor and opaline glass to reveal a playful contrast of shadows and light. The LED source is housed in a base clad in pressed aluminium, which in turn is finished in an attractive black or silver anodized. Brightness and light temperature can be adjusted with a simple turn of the elegant dimmer by the table versions of the collection. Trottola offers two sizes of suspension and table lights in handblown opaline glass. The table variant is fitted with the innovative BROKIS connector, which makes it easy to disconnect the light and move it about the interior and also facilitates disassembly for maintenance and cleaning. As if by magic, the semi-transparent object comes to life with a gentle glow to reveal a fascinating playscape of shapes and shadows in the interior.

The Vistosi Groove is a new collection of suspension lamps

It all starts with the pursuit of beauty

“Every time we embark on a new project, we face a duality: on one hand, the need to adhere to rigorous and conceptual principles, and on the other hand, the desire to express beauty for the eyes of the beholder. This balance is never guaranteed; it is a continuous dance between familiar and unexplored territories, between what we know and what surprises us. Groove embodies this philosophy. It is not just a collection of lamps, but an interpretation of how light is essential to construct a landscape in inhabited space that is as mutable and dynamic as nature itself, a changing balance of shadows and brightness that play and dance freely in space. This vision, this dual commitment to formal rigor and creative invention, is what guides all our projects.”

Alberto Bovo, founder and CEO of the HDG studio

Vistosi Groove is a collection of suspension lamps that combines rigorous geometries with great versatility. With its innovative composition technology, the suspension allows for customization and the creation of unique configurations. In fact, the adjustable metal frames allow you to create the perfect balance to illuminate any environment. Whether you are furnishing a residential or contract space, the Vistosi Groove lamp adds personality and style with its generous dimensions and captivating design.

The Class collection from lighting manufacturer Vibia

Class was designed with great attention to detail by Sebastian Herkner. Its sturdy stand curves elegantly to embrace the grooved, cylindrical diffuser, giving the design an industrial aesthetic and a captivating presence. Whether illuminating a garden, walkway or outdoor area, the collection is a long-lasting solution that casts an inviting glow over its surroundings. Sebastian Herkner found the inspiration for Class in the classic lamppost, which he reinvented by borrowing from early 20th century designs and giving it the intimate effect of indoor lighting. The result is a “modern interpretation of the torch” that bathes the surrounding greenery in a soft, diffused and indirect light. As if reflecting the surrounding nature, Class exudes a “botanical character”, especially the version with two asymmetrical diffusers, which is available as a wall or floor lamp. “Its vertical structure and gentle curve are reminiscent of reeds or grass, but not in an obvious way,” he emphasises. Harmony and intuition are the driving forces behind Herkner’s creative processes, and Class is no exception. “It is a balance between precision and craftsmanship,” notes the designer.Elegant and timeless, the refined silhouette of this cylindrical vibia lamp gently meets an impressive study of materiality in aluminium, borosilicate glass and matt polycarbonate.

Vistosi wins the Archiproduct Design Awards 2023

Plissé, after being selected in the Longlist of the best new products in the lighting sector, wins the Archiproduct Design Awards 2023, emerging among the 46 remaining candidates after the first selection.

It is the 5th ADA award that Vistosi has won in less than 10 years. A jury of excellence consisting of over forty of the most influential names in global creativity, including Manuel Aires Mateus, Giovanna Castiglioni, AMDL CIRCLE and Kelly Wearstler together with photographer Alberto Zanetti, pop artist Pietro Terzini and Nina Yashar, founder of Nilufar Gallery alongside experts in eco-design and sustainable design including Studio Formafantasma, American Lindsey Wikstrom of Mattaforma and Rossana Orlandi + Nicoletta Brugnoni (to name but a few!). They were given the task of evaluating and selecting the most innovative projects from over 700 proposals.
14 categories: furniture, bathroom, kitchen, outdoor, contract, office, lighting, decoration, finishes, building envelope, system components and materials, tech & lifestyle, wellness.
Vistosi submitted two entries in the light category, was selected in the long list from among 46 finalists and eventually earned this coveted award.
Their task is to identify products that have distinguished themselves through the use of new materials, forms or functions and that are capable of revolutionising and improving the quality of life of today and tomorrow, that stand out for their originality, research and innovation, and that reveal their emotional and functional power.

Plissé, presented for the first time by Vistosi at the last edition of the Salone del Mobile in Milan last April, responded exactly to the jury’s demands with its concept, combining design, material, craftsmanship and sustainability in a perfect combination.
The new suspension is the brainchild of designers Chiaramonte & Marin, analysed and developed by Vistosi’s R&D department and realised by its master glassmakers in collaboration with the company’s in-house workshop.
The new pendant is characterised by a generously sized diffuser made of blown glass that conceals an inner fabric shade, creating an interplay of transparencies, colours and textures that give
Plissè a unique elegance, able to characterise and give personality to the surroundings.
The diffuser is available in dark amber, smoked, burnt earth, old green or transparent crystal. The metal frame, on the other hand, is available with a matt steel or matt bronze finish. Equipped with an LED source, this collection enchants with its beauty and versatility in stylishly illuminating spaces.
We like to mention that the collaboration between the designers and Vistosi is once again a winning one, in fact it has already brought highly successful collections such as Vistosi Riflesso table winner of the ADA award in 2019 to this podium. Awards to add to those already obtained in 2016 with the FUTURA collection designed by studio HDG, in 2017 with JUBE suspension and in 2020 with JUBE table, designed by Favaretto&Partners.

The Gubi Table Lamp 9209 by Paavo Tynell

One of the iconic pieces launched during Tynell’s tenure at Taito, the 9209 Table Lamp was first produced in 1940. Similar in form and proportion to the much-loved, shell-shaded 5321 Table Lamp that followed it, the 9209 Table Lamp has a distinctively shaped shade in spun brass that has led to it being referred to as the ‘Kypärä’ – the Finnish word for ‘helmet’.
Held in place by a curved brass arm, the individually molded shade is decorated with triangular patterns of perforation – a Tynell decorative signature – which requires a specialist punch tool and the utmost precision to achieve by hand. As well as guiding the light downward, thanks to the holes punched in the surface, the shade also allows pinpricks of light through, creating a soft, textured glow and a starlight-like sparkle.
Thanks to its shape and material composition, the 9209 Table Lamp has a warm, materially honest expression. The brass stem is hand-wrapped with lacquered rattan, creating a visual and textural contrast to the gleaming brass, while also allowing the lamp to be easily and comfortably moved around. The stem is fixed into a molded brass base.
The 9209 Table Lamp is an iconic example of Paavo Tynell’s signature brass detailing. Besides the perforated shade, unique brass details include the simple switch discreetly positioned at the rear of the shade, and the brass finger above. Originally launched in 1940, when brass was on the verge of becoming Tynell and Taito’s signature material, the 9209 Table Lamp is now a renowned iconic collectors item.
Paavo Tynell (1890-1973) was an industrial designer, known as the great pioneer of Finnish lighting design and fondly dubbed as “the man who illuminated Finland”. Throughout 2023, GUBI explores and celebrates the legacy of Paavo Tynell with the launch of seven masterpieces.

The history of glass beads for producing modern Lamps

Vistosi’s historic collaboration with the Murano Glass Museum continues. Here, in the prestigious headquarters of the island of Murano, in one of the marvelous rooms, a stupendous Giogali waterfall is exhibited, whose iconic hook was designed in 1967 by Maestro Angelo Mangiarotti and made in our historic glass factory, the heart of the most ancient know-how.
Over the years, Vistosi has always supported the Museum by also participating in the printing of the precious book “The world in a pearl, the collection of the Murano Glass Museum” which collects and tells the history and production of these glass jewels, part of which is kept at the inside the display cases, in a dedicated room, born from a long cataloging work begun in the 14th century and today.

Objects of inherent value, entered into the history of design that will be the subject of a three-day conference, organized by the Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia from 11 to 13 September in a room of the Museum of Palazzo Mocenigo in Venice during the week dedicated to THE VENICE GLASS WEEK. The Lighting Brand Vistosi, has decided to be the Main Partner of this event that will animate Venice and the islands from 4 to 12 September and Sponsor of these three days of meetings that will begin by trying to answer the question: Who invented glass beads? This intriguing question will be the starting point for the three days of the conference, curated by Augusto Panini, an international expert of beads. The prestigious speakers will tell the history of these small artifacts, from antiquity to the twentieth century, presenting the results of the most recent studies and placing the production of Venetian beads within this long fascinating story, which involves all continents and civilizations. The production of glass beads will be faced from different points of view: production, artistic, technical, commercial, economic.
