Erco Greenology makes lighting sustainable

Lighting is an integral part of sustainable building. But what makes lighting sustainable? Two aspects are crucial: Planning according to the Human Centric Lighting concept. Light should only be used where it is needed. In addition, the right lighting tools for implementation: effective in use, developed and produced according to the principle of the circular economy. ERCO Greenology follows these approaches and combines as a concept the ecological responsibility with technological competence. Human Centric Lighting (HCL) places people, their needs and activity at the center of lighting design. Light is only used where it is required by human perception, i.e., not over a wide area and thus lavishly throughout the room. This perception-oriented planning approach has always been the basis of luminaire development at ERCO. High energy efficiency (lm/W) is not yet a guarantee of sustainable lighting. The decisive factor is the effectiveness of a lamp in use and thus the question: how much light actually reaches the target area (lx/W)? Only the exact control of light without scattering losses makes an efficient lamp effective and thus sustainable. ERCO spotlights are up to 20% more effective than comparable lamps. For your project, this means: the same illuminance with lower connected load. ERCO lamps make a significant contribution to energy efficiency and long-lasting use of buildings. Sustainability also plays a central role in their development and manufacture. Our goal is the CO? neutral lighting factory. To achieve this, we follow the principle of a circular economy – from the procurement of raw materials to the eco-design of the lamps and recycling. Thanks to a vertical integration of 80%, we are able to develop our production steps sustainably. Find out how ERCO is reducing its CO? emissions in the long term.
